our experience at the 2019 mickey's not-so-scary halloween party

Our family joined the grim, grinning, ghosts that came out to socialize on 8/20 at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!  Here's a tale of crowds, spooky snacks, pictures, crowds, character meet and greets, and like I said: crowds.

our august 2019 trip: a recap

Our week of pumpkins down Main St. USA, amazing ADRs, moonlit magic and not-so-scary fun is all said and done.  Now that we're home, we're left with just one question... can't we do it all over again?

august 2019 trip: everything i'm looking forward to

I'm back with yet another 2019 planning post!

Last year, I wrote this post in anticipation for our Thanksgiving trip, where I detailed everything new that I was looking forward to experiencing this year.  8 months have come and gone, and even more new and amazing experiences are waiting for me at Walt Disney World Resort!

your new park bff: the erin condren petiteplanner travel journal

There are certain things everyone should bring home from their Walt Disney World Resort vacation: a new pair of ears, an autograph from their favorite character, the latest map from their favorite park, and more than anything else-- a week's worth of brand new memories!

I like to keep my memories bright and shiny by using a travel journal to record them throughout the week.

how i planned our august 2019 trip to walt disney world

When I finished booking our FP+ plans for our Thanksgiving 2018 trip, I wrote this post about the planning process behind it.  I loved sharing that post with you guys, so I wanted to do it again this year!  I hope this can become something I do for tinkerkait every time my family goes on a trip.  Now that our FP+ date has come and gone, I'm ready to post our August 2019 plans!

Enjoy our timeline of events.

mimosas & mickey waffles: my favorite breakfasts at walt disney world

When I'm at Walt Disney World, there are very few luxuries I enjoy more than breakfast in the morning.  Breakfast is my favorite meal on principle, but when I'm at home, I normally just pour myself a lukewarm cup of coffee or fix myself some toast before heading out for the days events.  That means when I go to the Most Magical Place on Earth, I obviously have to set aside some time each morning to indulge in the Most Magical Meal of the Day.

summer alumni application experience

hey there, hi there, ho there!

today's post is a little longer, so grab some joffrey's and come back to it if you need to.  it follows my journey applying for the summer alumni dcp this year, which didn't end exactly how i though it would.  everything happens for a reason.

disney dining review: thanksgiving dinner at the california grill

Normally, when it comes to WDW dining reviews, it's wise to post your thoughts no more than three months after you pay the bill.  This time, I wanted to wait until we were closer to spring to post my review of Thanksgiving Dinner.  We're approaching the time of year where people with Thanksgiving trips to the Mouse House are looking for recommendations for a special Thanksgiving day dinner.  For most, a traditional Turkey dinner is a must, and many Walt Disney World restaurants will offer a special dinner to accommodate the holiday tradition.  Reviews of these dinners, however, are far and few in between-- leaving many first-time Thanksgiving travelers confused.  I know I was!  Hopefully, dropping this review closer to the ADR booking window will help travelers find their perfect Thanksgiving dinner plans.  Posting this review right now is the direct result of an expert marketing strategy from a highly knowledgeable social media expert and not at all related to the fact that I've had this post sitting in my drafts unfinished since I came home from Orlando four months ago.

where in the world is tinkerkait?

So, I've had a wild month, and I figured it was probably time for me to come back onto tinkerkait and let you guys know where I've been!  I haven't posted on this blog in over a month, which really scares me.  But as I've said before: in my absence, I don't forget about tinkerkait.  In fact, this blog is pretty much on my mind 24/7, shaming me for all of the content I could be writing, but don't have the time to actually sit down and write.

would i do another disney college program?

While the "blizzard" every weather channel was predicting for last weekend was a bust, Tuesday brought a flurry of excitement for hopeful mouseketeers across the country.  Applications for the Fall 2019 Disney College Program are now live!

With Fall 2019 applications live, Summer Alumni 2019 applications are set to follow in the next two weeks.  As an alumn still enrolled in college, you're always tempted to go back for just three more months...

the 4 walt disney world planning resources i use

I take a special kind of pride in receiving a special kind of text message every so often: "I have a question about Disney World."  Being the resident Walt Disney World Resort guru isn't an easy job, but someone has to do it!

my favorite pieces of disney jewelry

As much as I love Minnie Mouse ear headbands, let's face it: you can't exactly incorporate them into your everyday wardrobe.  When I miss my favorite place on earth, I'm not just going to whip out my favorite pair of Lebownittes and head to class (though I'd like to!)  My Disney wardrobe includes so many pieces-- from bags to graphic t-shirts to buttons!  When I don't feel like whipping out my expedition everest pullover, or even my "sing to me paolo" v-neck from MOMSCo, I normally turn to jewelry to add a subtle touch of Walt Disney World Resort to my typical NYC street style.
